SBG Global aka BetNow stealing 6k from me

I've had an account with them for over 20 years and have never had a problem with them until this weekend.

By way of background, my balance was approximately $5800 a few weeks ago. I had left that balance in my account since last winter because I trusted them and I knew I would be betting with them for football season. At the beginning of September I read some negative stories about SBG/BetNow on the forums. I decided to withdraw 3k to mitigate my risk, which I received the next day, leaving me with a balance of approx $2800. The prompt payout gave me some confidence that perhaps some of the negative posts about them lately had been isolated or overblown - turns out I was wrong.

Last weekend, I resumed betting football (NCAA and NFL). I went 2-2 on my wagers, betting 1k per game. My account remained opened. This Saturday, Sept 13, I made four college football wagers. I went 4-0 on my bets, bringing my balance to over 6k. My wagers were correctly graded and the winning bets were properly reflected in my account. On Sunday morning I logged in to look at the NFL lines. My account was fully accessible and the balance was correct. I did not place a bet at that time. On Sunday afternoon I attempted to log in again, but instead I received a pop-up message that read "your account is inactive, please contact customer service."

I contacted customer service via phone. I was informed that my account had been closed and that I would not be receiving any of my balance. They initially claimed that I was part of a "line moving group," which is absurd. Then they said "you're betting the line before it moves, which isn't fair." The bets that I made were not erroneous or inverted lines (betting something at +140 when the line should be -140, for example). Notwithstanding that fact, I asked why they thought it was fair to confiscate my entire balance instead of just canceling my bets if they thought the bets were illegitimate. The manager (Augie I think was his name) explained to me that since my lifetime figure was positive, they were just going to take my entire balance because I had already "won enough money" from them (they claim I am up approximately 19k lifetime on them, which could very well be possible). I asked Augie whether or not the sportsbook was under new ownership or new management and he said he could not comment on that. He did tell me, however, that they do have a new "risk management department," which apparently is tasked with kicking out winners. It's puzzling that a sportsbook that has been around for so long would be willing to trash its reputation right at the beginning of football season.

I am hoping that someone over at SBG aka BetNow with some authority and a reasonable understanding of bookmaking decides to do the right thing and pay me the money that I won.

File a complaint with OSGA ASAP. Augie is a bum. Straight up redcoat from 1776. Gotta be careful doing that bro with these trash books. Not worth losing 6k over some good juice.

For the last 20 years SBG was a pretty solid book. Only in recent weeks has it become trash.

Looks like they’re taking the MyBookie approach and using theft as a business strategy.

As mentioned - up until recently a decent book.

So you beat them on some soft lines - they should close your account and pay up.

Parts of the story don’t sound kosher to me - leaving a large balance in a book for almost a year for example - probably not the wisest move. But that doesn’t excuse their actions either - they are for example well within their rights to ask for a new validation (if a customer has been inactive for 9 months or so and suddenly shows back up playing an existing balance - I think that’s more than reasonable - it’s a needed security validation before paying out).

But this doesn’t excuse not paying. As mentioned file the complaint and update us.

Shit. Another one bites the dust. Thanks Baus.

It’s too bad; this was a good sportsbook for a long time.

But with this theft described here, and the issue of the cancelled futures wagers, SBG is officially finished.

It just has that MyBookie or BetDSI feel to it. The “we are stealing your money and there’s nothing you can do about it” attitude.

Run on the "bank" coming....I will see if I can get a significant amount out. Have a higher 4 figure balance there.
Tough to have a run on the bank when you can only withdraw 7k a month. But yes, good idea to keep balances low right now.
I know another story of a guy who got limited to $200 bets with a 10k RO. So apparently they are taking a page out of the betus handbook as well. :icon_roll

Isn’t this where poster Sunshine plays and states the casino is very beatable as well.

Between sunshine’s baseball plays and if there is indeed a formula to their casino enabling profitable play - would not be surprising at all to see them hurting for cash.

SBG was the very first sportsbook I ever played at - they were a squares only book then. Nice to see some things never change in the industry.

I left after they cut off my bonus and cut the withdrawal limits to an un usable level. Sorry - but if you’re willing to take a 5k deposit from me - I should at least be able to withdraw 2x the amount of the deposit every month.

Here’s the total memory lane of BetNow, memory is foggy though.

2023, huge sign up cash bonuses, 4-5x rollover, 50% re-ups in cashier until you one. 16k monthly crypto payout limits.

2024, rollovers went to 8-10x, still good offers, payout limits plummeted to 8k. Stupid a$$ poker app promotion

2025, 7k payout limits, half action baseball, 30 cent baseball lines, slow pay-no pay, account investigations, Auggy the redcoat starts stealing from people. Terrible bonuses

BetNow was the best book I ever dealt with. Even got an ACH transfer as a payout. But any SBG Global operation is eventually going to run into trouble and they are all seemingly getting into the same trouble at the same and it is probably not a coincidence.
