Carnival is soooo ghetto
Yep , years ago I did one out of Miami and it was pretty bad but then I did a Mexican Riviera out of Long Beach Cali and it was alright .They are - but alot is origin and destination.
3-4 days out of Florida tend to draw a cheap party crowd - just like Alaska/Hawaii tend to be a better class of tourist.
Been on many cruises - personally find we like a bit of a mix. Some of the lines just feel like floating retirement homes. Carnival (and Royal) can draw some ghetto crowds - but easy enough to avoid them by skipping the pool area and buffet and going to casino off hours. Casino between 9p-1A is ghetto central (especially around the craps table of they open one). Nothing like watching the ensuing comedy of a bunch of $10 bettors from a poker machine nearby.
Unfortunately that's the portray social media wants to show. I've been on many cruises with Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian and never ran into any ghetto people. Incidents can happen on any cruise line, it's not just Carnival that's the problemCarnival is soooo ghetto
Of course I'm going to tip

Bobby is the cruise king. Did you watch the Netflix doc on 'The Poop' Cruise?I got one of those “free cruise” vouchers from the Rio Hotel & Casino a while back, and after looking into it, I finally pulled the trigger on a sailing! I’m booked for February 15–22, 2026 aboard the Carnival Liberty, and I’m pretty pumped to get back out to sea.
The itinerary is sounds pretty good, we’ll be hitting Key West, Celebration Key, and Nassau.
I’ve never been to Key West before, so I’m really looking forward to exploring that area.
Celebration Key is brand-new—Carnival’s private island that’s built with all kinds of amenities like beach clubs, swim-up bars, and water activities.
I’ve been to Nassau once or twice many years ago, but it’ll be cool to revisit and see what’s changed.
This will be my first cruise since my Alaska trip back in October 2024, so I’m definitely ready to be back on the water. And while I say “free,” of course there are still costs—taxes and port fees alone were about $500 for a 7-day cruise for two people in an interior cabin, which honestly isn’t bad considering all the included food, entertainment, and destinations.
I ended up upgrading to an ocean view cabin and added my stepdaughter to the booking, so for all three of us it came out to around $1,300 total without hotel or airfare.
I'm also excited to be sailing out of New Orleans as I've never been there either but I'm excited to try the food and visit bourbon street.
I did, I thought it was a good reenactment of what happened although it didn't provide much "new" information about what happened that I didn't already knowBobby is the cruise king. Did you watch the Netflix doc on 'The Poop' Cruise?
Rio is not gonna offer a free cruise without a casino that’s the whole pointCasino on board?
Actually, there's no correlation between playing in the casino and it having any effect on your land-based Rio offers. Although it will affect my Carnival offers since I'm currently getting pretty decent offers from them, including drinks in the casino, onboard credit and free rooms, so I will need to play some to keep those going (I was going to play regardless)Rio is not gonna offer a free cruise without a casino that’s the whole point
I saw that! I'd love to know exactly how that happened, from what I'm hearing some of the glass shattered somehow. Hopefully that won't happen to me
Yeah, I usually play poker on board but the rake is really high and a lot of ships have been moved to electronic tables where there's no physical cards, which I prefer but a lot of players hate themGetting laid on a cruise is the easiest, something about being so far from land...
Soft poker tables too
