If you take that gamblers competitiveness and point it towards beating the sport, whichever that might be, then you fuel the itch towards gaining an edge, continuing to learn and eventually beating the game. It is that simple to say but so hard to try. Thing is, once you achieve that, it is a compulsion in itself to continue doing so. It takes discipline at first but that becomes a part of the process soon after.

Finally learning not to chase is like reaching nirvana or a state of enlightenment for a gambler. Before a gambler learns this they are lost in the wilderness

video poker is a brutal mental and physical grind when in a downward spiral.

Lmao

This is ridiculous. It’s not the video poker bruh. It’s you.

Common man. The decisions and video poker are already made for you, you don’t even have to think.

And if you can‘t decide whether to keep the jack, queen, king or ace, when praying for Jack’s or better, just pick one and do the same thing every time.

Outside of that, mitigate the physical toll of grinding by being in shape, taking proper breaks, and feeding, watering yourself. But none of that is exclusive to video poker.

Like I said, it’s not the video poker, it’s the player. And in your defense, we humans tend to make things difficult on ourselves. We are all ”guilty” of that.
