Jennifer Paragallo is somehow related to Ernie Paragallo. He was a long-time NY trainer/owner who ended up going to jail for mistreatment of horses. How she maintains a license, no idea. BUT…..her horses have run very well here. A couple of really long ones settled for second, plus she had an outright win today. So, how can a trainer be uncompetitive at Tampa, yet win at Saratoga. Can only be one reason….juice.

Just checked the results....Soontobeking ran out.....Cara's Time scratch.....There are no words 2nd at 9-1 Had the 3-1 exacta(Bravo-Drysdale at 9-1 also)$160....very nice result on the Monmouth race

Off turf today. As we get to the back end of the meet, I start to look for the smaller NY barns to start getting their wins. They don’t have the quality stock to compete with the big boys, so I’ve always felt that the best time for them ti get wins is on the back end. With that in mind, looking at Nevin and Schettino horses today. Both capable trainers, at good prices, might get ignored….

Couple of things I am looking for between now and the end of the meet. Trainers Kantarmaci and Ferraro with horses going second, third, or fourth start of meet. Historically juicy angle. It appears in a couple races today:

The race 9 entrant is the one I’m really excited about. Ferraro making a couple changes that the smaller barns sometimes employ to “wake up” a horse. Going dirt to turf, cutting back on distance, slight drop in class ($62.5k to $45k). Let’s hope it works at a big number.

Nothing still from Kantarmaci. He’s been a big disappointment this meet.
