Players are all pro’s now
Jim is smart. Looks like he saw this coming and so he jumped back to the NFL.

He's not going back. IMO I never thought Jim would stay as long as he did in college. He wears out his welcome wherever he is because of his personality and because he won a championship with Michigan I don't see him ever going back to college even if he never wins a Super Bowl. He knew this was coming like you pointed out so I think he just got out while the getting was good at his alma mater.
How long do you think he's going to stay as Chargers coach?
He usually doesn't stay longer than 5 years which is why I'm surprised his tenure with the Wolverines lasted so long. This might be his last head coaching job but I can't really say for sure because he never stays too long in one place.

He just looks like a guy you want to punch in the face,
Imagine the hype if he can turn the Chargers around this season.
