Women leaves hateful message in place of tip at Mexican restaurant

So heard about this the other day and was shocked to find out it happened at their location in my old neighborhood.

I mean - what in the hell did the person leaving the tip think was going to be accomplished ? Don’t like the service and don’t want to tip - fine. Just put zero on the bill and walk out.

Instead she puts a hate message and in the process gets fired from her job and likely will never work in real estate again.

Hot tip - I guess it’s not the smartest move when your going to do something like this to NOT put your business card in the bowl by the register to win a free lunch. Makes it much easier to track you down - especially when your damn picture is on the business card.

Are they a smaller privately owned or a chain?

Anyone who doesn’t frequent smaller Mexican restaurants probably doesn’t understand that the service isn’t usually on the level of large chains

The food comes out for one person at a time and I don’t think waitresses are used to getting traditional tipping, not to mention some of the owners will keep the tip or a portion if it’s not left in cash

I’m guessing this person is not used to those types of places and doesn’t understand that you go to those smaller Mexican restaurants for the good food, not looking for good service

This is true. I LITERALLY am allowed to get my own beers in CR. Owner says just keep a tally, Ticos are so slow

The fact she is a member of “Karen’s of Delaware County” just completes the picture for me.

Delaware County is the absolute synopsis of “urban sprawl” in the Midwest. Just North of Columbus - it was mainly farmland until the early 90s - until homebuilders started going nuts building sub divisions up there - now it’s a weird mix of transplants and lifers who seemingly hate each other. 90%+ white, transplants complaining about the “hillbilly” lifers and lifers complaining about the stupid wannabe yuppies moving in and taking over.

Also there is a very small but active Hispanic population there - mainly working on the horse farms. A lot of rich people into horses and home to the “Little Brown Jug” harness race every year at the county fair.

Restaurant in question is part of a small chain - they have 1 or 2 other locations - one down by campus and 1 other I think. This location though unlikely to be that busy - it’s been an absolute graveyard of different restaurants for years for some reason. The 6 years we lived there I think there were 4 or 5 different places in that location.

I mean you feel bad for the waiter - but why are people giving him money ?

A customer was a complete moron - failed to tip and treated him like shit. It happens - if you want to do something go there and support the business.

I’m not a fan of GoFundMe and their for profit fundraising crap. Plus the number of people seeking handouts is ridiculous.

So she’s still getting awarded for being sh!tty at her job lol

I eat out at least 4-5 times per week all over the place and I can instantly tell if a waiter or waitress is good or sucks at their job

Some of them cannot do multiple things at once and should not be in that line of work.
And some are absolutely fantastic

No matter how horrible they are I still leave a tip but nothing close to what I would If they do a good job

But I’ll give this one the benefit of the doubt as I explained in post #6 as some restaurants just aren’t up to date with the norm

You would think people would have learned by now that with Social Media society we live in, everything becomes publicized. Cameras everywhere and hundreds of apps to post stuff racist, bigoted people are doing.

The lady was a dumb-a$$ for doing it because:
1. It was unnecessary. Just don't leave any tip.
2. Her small brain thinking didn't piece it together that it would be posted on social media.


I'm sure there is a racist realtor company out there that will hire her.
