When I had a broken leg, it was $75 for a little < 0.5 acre. $100 if I have them edge everything (fenceline, drive, sidewalk). Felt kind of robbed but I was screwed.

Yea - kind of the position I’m in. Feels like a waste - but by the time I make time to do it - just as cheap to work and pay the guy.

Figure it takes 2-3 gallons of gas per acre - I run ethanol free so $4.50-5 a gallon. Then you gotta have a mower - pro level stuff that last more than 3 seasons ain’t cheap and you gotta trailer it to someone. Seems high - but landscapers probably not making much until they have a ton of houses in close proximity.

At the same time - once you’ve built a route and have equipment and someone who doesn’t destroy it and shows up for work regularly- it’s a goldmine.

Like if you have a yard how are you not up at 8:00 AM every Saturday drinking a beer shirtless mowing loud as shit so all your neighbors can hear? Then you give em a shit eating grin later in the day

Fortunately, I get along with my neighbors and we don't mow before 9:00 AM. Been that way for a few years. We have new neighbors though so we're wating to see if they "comply". If not, it's going to get loud a 6:00 AM.....
