The passion of the Northeast sports fan is like no other. I have been to a few places around the Country. Northeast(Philly, New York, Boston) every minute/every pitch locked in emotionally. Tampa Rays. Holy shit no passion. Quiet as can be in a domed echo stadium. Just weird environment. Bunch of old peeps taking their nap. Wrigley, had a younger party vibe. most were not paying attention to the game and cared more about the beer guy. Giants, awesome stadium and were closer to the passion of the northeast fan but just more respectful in language used. At least they watched and cheered the game.
Old Yankee stadium, goose bumps every time I am telling you. The history there just walking around the old stadium. If you never had the privilege of sitting with the bleacher bums in right field, I am truly sorry for you as missed one of the most comedic/entertaining experience you could in life. I was fortunate to be at a few games one being against Ken Griffey JR. I never went to the new stadium so don't have any input on that venue.
I have never been anywhere louder that the old Spectrum in Philadelphia. Vitty would probably agree. The noise that could be heard from that building whether it was the 76ers, Flyers, Wings, or a WWF wrestling match was insane especially hearing the just pounding from the 3rd level cheap seats.
700 level Vet stadium you risked your life anytime you went wearing opposing team colors. I am all Philadelphia with sports but I am a Cowboy fan. I am that asshole. I thrived with that asshole chant. I have witnessed many almost thrown over though that are not the size I am. Nothing like having asshole chanted by 1,000s. Funny thing is the same calling me an asshole were asking for my autograph during the 1993 Phillies run most likely. They just didn't know it.
