Over the years I have never seen a "forum fight" turn into the real thing.
even at these forum bashes, the "keyboard warriors" say they are going to kick somebody's ass
then they meet at a Bash, and they are having drinks together.

With you, I think they are just trying to get you to go off tilt, so you can get banned.
That's just my opinion.

I understand what you mean Genie about the reason for Rudy being banned wasn't a single post but instead based on the sum of his posts that day, however as a poster that has been banned before, I too have liked for the reasons for the ban to be more specific - it really is frustration to banned and not even get the specific reasons laid out clearly.

Forums, aren't courts, I know, but despite it being more work to write out explanations - it goes s long way in making posters feel better treated when there more accuracy and transparency in the banning processes.

and yes, I agree that we are not the courts here and beside this is a free forum site, but we are here to monitor and give proper sanction once it's over the line. And note that we don't do banning "immediately", it takes a lot of effort and time to inform the player to stop.

Yes I agree, and my reference to the courts was not criticising forums or moderators, I meant that because forums are informal with no government regulations - forums owners do not owe the same responsibility of due process that courts do, meaning that usually moderators abuse their power because there is no oversight, nor should there be any oversight either except for the owners and internal management hierarchies obviously.

But just like there should be no oversight bodies regulating the private homes and families of everyone, there should still be more commitment to fairness/reasonableness/transparency/due process at forums - hopefully forums owners do more to ensure their management does this.

I know what I was banned for at SBR even if I did not get it spelled out for me in a private message, and we all know it too for Rudy, we just wish more was spelled out for us - even though it takes more time and effort to do so.
