Spin:St. Louis held out hope that Adam Wainwright would be ready to clear COVID-19-related protocols and make his scheduled turn through the rotation Tuesday, but he ultimately wasn't able to do so. As a result, Naughton will move from the bullpen to make the spot start, but don't expect him to work deep into the game. He'll be pitching on two days' rest after facing two hitters in Saturday's game against the Giants, and he hasn't topped three innings in any of his appearances in the majors or at Triple-A Memphis this season.

Jose Herrera will get a turn behind the plate in place of Varsho on Tuesday, however.

TUE, MAY 10, 1:09 PM Correa landed on the injured list with a right middle finger contusion Tuesday. Spin:It initially looked as though Correa had broken his finger after he was hit by a pitch Thursday against the Orioles, though tests later revealed that he was merely dealing with a bruise. The Twins gave him a few days to see if he would heal fast enough to avoid the injured list, but it turns out he'll need more time to heal. The move was made retroactive to Friday, so Correa will be eligible to return next Monday. Royce Lewis should continue to serve as the team's primary shortstop until Correa returns.
