not place a bet greater than -200. too many times i do an alt line and cost myself money. also, embrace betting a line higher than the main line if i like the plus money offered.

Agree - in general this is a good idea.

Just because the juice is high doesn’t mean it’s a “bad” idea - but we fall into the trap of thinking of things as locks and guessing wrong gets costly quickly at those higher prices.

I’ve fallen into that trap a few times myself - generally playing soccer totals - thinking of -500 for a u4…no way that can lose. Sure enough I’ll watch a side jump out to a 2-0 lead and either piss it away to lose in extra time or the opposition just give up a couple of additional easy goals.

If you’re going to play moneylines - be careful and consider spreads instead. If you don’t feel comfortable with the spread - then you shouldn’t be comfortable with a moneyline.

After a very very good year in 2025 - I’m going to be much more selective.

Selective on the bets I make and the books o place them with.

The amount of money I lost thinking “I had a good day - I’ll play a hunch and try to make it a REALLY good day” is staggering when I look back at it. Way too many days where I should have stopped being up $1500-2500 and instead broke even or won $500.

No basketball this year either - especially come March. Most random damn sport imaginable. That and staying clear of big tennis faves and trying to scalp them - it NEVER works.

Baseball will remain my primary this year and would like to target 100 or so plays.
