Doubt it - but there does need to be a standardized process.
I have no issue with RESPONSIBLE people carrying (concealed or open) - but way too many idiots who shouldn’t be anywhere near a weapon out there.
Same thing for a vehicle though - if your caught driving without a license/insurance it should be 1st time - $500 fine and 1 year probationary period minimum. 2nd $2500 and 5 year and 3rd your out - permanent ban requiring court approval.
Too many idiots out there wanting to be tough guys and think a CC permit is a license to kill. Pull a weapon in an argument and it should be a minimum 6 months. Just like stand your ground - it’s a reasonable standard - but way too many people overstate the “threat” they were “defending”.
Let anyone seeking a carry permit post a million dollar bond - should cost about $300-500 a year for the average person (and as more apply - that price will drop). Do something stupid and it’s going to cost you…it will be amazing how groups sponsoring these bonds will police themselves and shun the known problems - in turn pushing them to fringe providers who will charge a small fortune - kind of like car insurance…it’s cheap until you prove your high risk then it’s $$$.
