Edit: Just off post history alone. I'd say mother.
Philly is privately self made according to the answers I’ve received when asked about how he makes money or did.

Cali weak woke losers
Worst state USA
You might think so but, dayam do those liberal states contribute one hell of a lot more money to the US than they receive.

Calif was 2nd on the list in 2023. Giving $78B more than it received back.
I guess we should at least thank them for paying for the stuff the US has/needs.

Misleading.

This refers to individual and corporate tax payments, not state governments themselves.

Malted you buying or renting ?

👍🍺

Bought…..

We just paid off our house in November - not going to give out hard numbers, but between what we sold this house for that was built in 1985, and what we bought in Prescott, which was built in 2023, after all the closing costs, moving expenses, etc. - we’re pocketing about $140,000. Wife & I were joking (not really, though) if we had to buy our California house today - we couldn’t afford it…..

What????
The dollars shown are the amount of taxes/fees/etc... paid by all entities of that state to the US government minus the amount of $$ the US govt feeds back into that state.

I realize this doesn't fit your speaking points but facts are facts.

Congratulations on making a wise choice; when you get to the AZ border make sure you take a picture of the sign that says "Welcome to the USA".

👍🍺

Last trip (it might be gone now), there was a freeway billboard right at the state line that said something like “Welcome to the Grand Canyon State - please don’t “California” our “Arizona”…..

OFF TO PRESCOTT, ARIZONA!!!!!

Didn’t want to “jinx” anything before it was official, but the money on both sale & purchase are official. My last day of ‘work’ (been phoning it in for a couple weeks now) is “officially” today, so I guess now I’ll be hitting the job boards. Pretty much every room looks like the wife’s “she-shed” - all boxed up.

Very bittersweet, both my wife & I are So. Cal. natives, and have lived here our whole lives, but it’s time. All of our families are either dead, or living in Arizona (or somewhere other than California), we’re not getting any younger, and we wanted to sell out before $#!T goes too south, and we’re stuck, or priced out of the market.

I’ll keep everyone posted here as things progress…..

CHEERS, BMR!!!!!

My Mom and sister live there so I'm seriously thinking about moving there too. I used to live in So Cal too and I miss it. I miss the people but I don't miss the traffic and I don't miss living in an apartment.
After moving to Arizona I could afford to buy a house.
If I sold my house I would have enough equity to buy a smaller house in Prescott so I think that's what I'm going to do so I don't have a house payment.
My realtor suggested renting there for a year before moving to see if I like it. Have you spent much time there?

Here's what $300,000 will get you in the next town over.

The weather isn't all that different from So Cal. It gets up into the 90s in July and maybe even 100 once a year. It gets down into the 20s in the winter and occasionally they'll get a dusting of snow.
You'll love Whiskey Row downtown across from the courthouse. Lots of nice bars there.

Is Prescott a good area?
