In the grand scheme of things, nobody cares about this *forum*. Will BMR stand up and post about this situation on Social Media? Would this benefit OTHER SPONSORS or anger them?

Times like this are great for the good, honest bookmakers to step up and try to take a larger slice of the pie. But will BMR do anything meaningful, other than lower 9.5 (green) to 8.5 (green) on a page nobody reads?

This thread just shows exactly how short-sighted shop owners and management can be - as well as how ignorant of the value of their brand they are.

Going into this post - you think the owners of wager web would have sold their operation for 100k and walked away ? Absolutely not.

But stiff someone out of 39k - take a massive hit on reputation and create a mass panic and practically kill any inflows during the beginning of the “slow season” - what a completely stupid move.

What did they think was going to happen here - the player would just “forget” about it and move on ?? This isn’t some shot taking scammer - this is a legit bet that they willingly accepted the risk on. Worse - they are paying in installments (not unexpected for a smaller book - but underscores even more how boneheaded the move was). Literally - all they had to do was say “rule says 50k - our software accepted the wager in excess of the rule. We owe you 89k and will pay you 89k - just be aware in any future case we will not accept responsibility for placing a wager in excess of stated limits. We also have a limited capacity to send payouts presently so payouts will be 3k per week - subject to processor availability”. They say that - the player not only likely continues to play with them - but they avoid the present shit show this has became for them and they keep their established business.

Now they will likely lose in excess of 50% of their players - have a hard time recovering and potentially have to close up shop over 39k (which they wouldn’t even have to start paying at present rate until damn near football season when money starts flowing in - assuming player did not lose some back to them by continuing to play.

I just don’t get it - do books not understand junior college economics 101 ? Do they think the forums they paid off for ratings for a decade no longer matter ? Or do they just think EVERY player is so ignorant that they will blindly chase a bonus no matter how many complaints are filed. You set off a damn avalanche over ego and technicality. Doesn’t the offshore scene have enough obstacles to overcome right now without a mid size book starting a whole new mess ?

Most of their players probably never go to these forums and what had have ones will never reach them. There are way more players that never come to rheee forums than do.

Their rating was lowered from 9.5 (recommended book range), to a middle of pack 8.5, and we are in the process of updating inventory across the website. I know the number scale isn't totally clear but this is essentially going from an A to a C+/B-. Let's see if they end up doing the right thing and what other type of feedback is received from other users. Ratings are constantly evaluated.

Also, guys, WW is independently owned. Please limit discussion to their handling of this case and their sportsbook. Other sites don't need to be involved in the convo.

I’m glad this happen online and not in person with a local, because metaphorically in that moment when I knew they were gonna steal from me. I might’ve done something very drastic and regretful to that person.

That was a long time ago, but I don’t like to hear that. If I heard one horror stiff job story from them on any forums I would’ve never played there. Like I said a number of times in this thread I only trust Bookmaker from this point on offshore and I will bet with Hard Rock bet will be my only two options. Maybe at some point I need to move to a state with more “outs”.
