There was a Tricloscan "scare" briefly, in that some doctors said it initiated cancerous cell growth....until it was pointed out that the same ingredient is in EVERY: handsoap, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, kitchenware & utensils and every plastic bottle/ container, etc

Non Story.

When my wife was in college to be a hygienist 20 years ago her teacher told her Colgate so that is what I have bought ever since. I had always used Crest prior because it tasted better but it probably just had more sugar/sweetener in it.
Enikster! 20 years ago ese? I took you for a 20 year old vato, how old are you????

1 year older than you. Since we are talking cancer in here, don't wait until 50 boys and girls. Get that colonoscopy earlier. If I waited until 50, I would be dead. Many insurance companies will cover you at 45 now. I advice you all to lie and say a family history of it so it is covered at 40 or less. Everything we eat/the environment/ technology/ medications can cause cancer. More and more are getting colon cancer earlier in life. Don't go through what I had to, and I had one a test 5 years prior to being diagnosed and was clear than. If you are one that gets heartburn a lot than have them scope both ends check for esophageal cancer. Us Degen's don't eat the healthiest. That is my public service announcement for the day but it won't be the last.

We may be gamblers but those 5 year life survival percentages from your Dr is something you don't want to hear or gamble on.

You can live with colon cancer for like 20 years even if it's undetected. Colon cancer is a very slow growing cancer many people in their 30's could have early polops etc that take a long time to take you out.

Yeah I had my 1st test at age 43 and just had 3 non-cancerous polyps(everyone has them). 5 years later fairly large tumor stage 2. Your right in that usually it is a slow growing cancer and why they clear you for 10 years when you have a clear test. I started my MS med around that same time so I am sure that had something to do with it as it suppresses your immune system. Also, started using a laptop daily around than instead of a desktop. Don't know if that causes anything or not but I had a big ass tumor in a short period of time. I went through mental hell with it but was fortunate not to have to go through the mental and physical hell most have to suffer with their cancer.

Wait until I tell you my story. It’s too late to type it now. Tomorrow you are going to be like “oh shit”. I’ve had 3 colonoscopies and endoscopies done in the last 6 months.

Chat tomorrow bro. Have a good night. I am crashing now too.
Alright , this is going to be kind of long. I am 48 and at 39 I was having some stomach issues, and at the time I was in San Francisco, one month away from moving to China for 6 months before my destination, Vietnam. My Gastroenterologist put the order in for me to get a colonoscopy and endoscopy , they do them at the same time. When I woke up he told me all is good and just had acid in my stomach like 100s of other millions of people in the world. So my first one was at 39... Fast forward to 6 months ago mid February 2022.... I had been at the Dr. non stop for stomach issues in Vietnam and they said well you are 48 now it is time we do another check, ( keep in mind I come back to America 1-2 a year ) but I was having major issues and needed to get checked... I went to the top hospital and the Gastroenterologist was highly recommended as the best in Hanoi, I know a lot of people there, I am integrated in the society and culture, I speak Viet and I do my due diligence with anything in my life especially my health in a foreign country. Vietnam is amazing but the medical care there has issues. So I checked around and this Dr. is pretty famous and everyone knows him at the hospital he is at, he has a well respected name....So I had the procedure done, I woke up and he said your colon is perfect no issues but you have 6mm of Barrets , he called it short term barrets. Of course I started to stress and freak out and I was what the hell is that? He said it is the tissue in your esophagus and if it spreads, it is cancer and turns into long term and there is no stopping it then....Keep in mind, Vietnam has issues with their medical practice, they are known for dental tourism, people come there for that all over the world but time and time again, there are issues with their medical practices. ....He told me I will need to get an endoscopy to monitor it 1-2 times a year for the rest of my life to keep an eye on it. The next day I took his report and pictures to get a 2nd opinion to an international hospital where the doctors are from other countries. .. They said that usually it is not serious ( short term barrets) but they saw a bunch of other stuff on the pictures that were not addressed. After 3 different appointments and a month later, I ended up in the ER twice, they told me they needed to see for themselves and requested I do another colonoscopy and Endoscopy, I have a childhood friend in America I was discussing this with, and he said,I should do one again to get a different opinion, it is not going to hurt you just a pain with flushing you out etc etc...So I had it done...I woke up and the Dr. said my colon looks good but he saw what the other Dr saw and agreed that I had 5-6mm of barrets in my esophagus , this Dr. is from Canada and he said I would need to keep an eye on it and repeat an endoscopy every 6 months the rest of my life.....Fast forward to June 16th this year. I arrive back in California and I had already made an appointment with the Gastro Department where I live.My paperwork was in Vietnamese from one hospital and English from another. My doctor said he needed to see for himself what was going on.....so June 19th, I had my 3rd one done 4 total in my life.....I wake up and he said I saw what they saw in Vietnam and it looks like barrets but he needs to send it out for a biopsy... he found 4 things that he needed to biopsy. as you can imagine a stressful time.....7 days later he calls me into his office and I am getting ready for the news.. he looks at me and then has my paperwork from Vietnam.... He said you do not have barrets.. I said WTF???? I have been thinking this whole time I have it etc etc.. he said to me you have acid in your stomach and what they saw in Vietnam is inflammation of the esophagus and it looks just like barrets and they "assumed it"... He then pointed out that on the paperwork they gave to me I was admitted in the morning on a certain date and given the diagnosis of barrets the same day. He said that is medically impossible, there is not a medical facility in the world that can diagnose it the same day. He said I don't know how they do medicine in Vietnam but this should not of happened and they know better that you can never "assume" he did say he thought it was Barrets too but turns out I don't have it... So at 48 years old I have had 4 total.....

That is the EXACT reason I told everyone to get both ends done if you have daily heartburn. I had to have yearly Upper end done for the last 20 years(well the first 10 years). I have taken a proton pump inhibitor(your Prilosec's/Prevacid)daily ever since and the Barret's esophagus/inflammation has cleared up to where the Drs out here said I don't have it. I have always been a night shift worker that don't care to eat at work but would eat when I came home from work than go to bed. Terrible habit. I just eat earlier and used an adjustable bed for a while and helped. I find the generic Lansoprazole to work better than the omeprazole for me. When it was real bad I went on Dexilant but not all insurances cover it but that shit was great. No reflux at all and I think is what allowed the tissue to heal. All about diet, what time of day eating before sleeping, and elevate head of bed. Waking up in your sleep not being able to breathe because you are aspirating on your own stomach acid is fvcking scary as shit. As good as peanut butter is, I can only eat that early in the day as it takes forever to digest. PB and Pizza Hut were my 2 biggest food issues. Now if I eat something late I go light with fruit or cereal and no issues. 1 daily and you will be good to go.
