The truth is a lot of the people of Qatar do support the LGBTQ community. It’s pretty comical to think that by having rainbow flags on a emblem would somehow be classless and disrespectful….it’s actually the exact opposite . A lot of innocent people there want the freedoms we have.

Their leadership is just corrupt as f*** and a little ass backwards, though they of course will tolerate it in this case for the $.

Societal norms have been changing for literally thousands of years. They change for a reason. And they will keep changing. It's an inevitable part of humanity, proven to be true throughout its entire existence.

Yes Qatar is a much more conservative country, but even they are making progress on LGBTQ rights. Major cultures evolve at different rates, but they all inevitably evolve. LGBTQ rights isn't some sacred Western value lol get outta here with that

As Archie mentioned, Qatar already signed off on not throwing a fit over what the US is doing. They're just happy to have the bid, given how they got it. So I don't really understand what you're even arguing at this point.

Well when I was younger I had several gay guy's hit on me

One was a big burly guy who was married you would have never thought he was gay, or bi

But guess what, it never bothered me I didn't have a problem with it wasn't a big deal

Most gay guys are actually pretty cool they're a lot nicer than lesbians who are total bitches

I dated a bisexual girl for a while but realized it wasn't for me because my theory is why do you want to be with someone who's never going to be able to give you 100% of themselves

Some mornings they wake up they're not even attracted to males at all.

So I've always been back and forth on it, no problem with gay people, but religiously it's not supposed to be right

But then again I think people were born that way and it's not even their fault, so it gets really confusing

But I guess I don't understand why you think homosexuality is shoved down your throat.

Obviously you are going to see movements centered towards LGBTQ rights and not heterosexual peoples' rights, given the former is the group that has historically had to fight against oppression

It's the same reason you see minority race rights, womens' rights movements and not white and men's rights movements here.....because minorities and women have actually had to fight oppression in our country's history (and obviously in many other countries).

So I think you're confusing something being forced on you with an oppressed group simply doing what it should, quite frankly
