LSU will be his best shot.

Florida not as easy to recruit now with USF & UCF & FSU all pulling 5 stars and deep pockets withing a short car ride away.

Swapping schools in conference though, thats tough. Leaving a program after a CFP run, thats tough.

But....living in & raising kids in Oxford, MS can't be fun. A road trip to Memphis isn't exactly as intriguing as one to New Orleans.

Sounds like the Ole Miss AD says he will announce his decision after the Egg Bowl vs Mississippi State on November 28

I’d be suprised if he turned LSU down
WTF?????

$90M. The governor from Lousianna went ballistic when he found out the amount they are required to pay Brian Kelly.

How in the hell would he agree to the STATE FUNDED university paying someone even more?
A lot of $$$$$!

Got to be tough on him having to walk away with his team still in the playoffs.

At the same time - as much as I’m sure he wanted to stay - he knew he had to go. Everyone saying stay and build a powerhouse and become a legend needs to look at Dabo right now. That’s exactly what he did at a second tier school and they are ready to run him out of town after a down season be his standards.

LSU has $$ to spend and can be a player in the transfer portal. All those 5 stars that Texas, Georgia and ‘Bama sign who don’t immediately get the starting time they want will eventually wind up at LSU with redemption on their mind. The days of “in state” recruiting being a major selling point are over - recruits want to play on the biggest stage and make the playoffs. LSU gives them that chance every season.

Apparently the hold up on the official announcement is Kiffin lobbying the powers that be at Ole Miss to still allow him to coach his team in the playoffs.

They said no. Then Lane tried to argue for them to let the players decide if he can coach them in the playoffs. Once again the powers that be said no.

Sounds like now he is threatening to take his staff with him if they don't let him
