I'm pretty sure someone (Scott Bessent?) told Trump, the comments he made regarding the firing of Jerome Powell and the whole tariff thing with China will crater our economy. It's good to see someone finally got through to him. This whole situation has been a cluster-f#k from the beginning.

I'm confident we'll hear people say... "This was all part of the plan." :ROFLMAO:

Then again, he may wake up tomorrow and say "Tariffs are on again". The indecision and flip-flopping has been at record pace so far this term.

US worried about treasuries

We were basically at an embargo point with China.

There’s nobody in the world that thought that was sustainable.

Wasn’t too hard to predict the US would back off here from the ridiculous highs of the tariffs.

But it was a fun round of manipulation nonetheless.

asked about Trump and Bessent’s comments on Wednesday, China’s Foreign Ministry said the US should “stop its threats and coercion, and engage with China on the basis of equality, mutual respect and reciprocity” if it wants to make a deal.

China has a powerful card to play in its fight against Trump’s trade war

“Claiming it wants to reach an agreement with China while constantly applying maximum pressure is not the right way to engage with China — and it simply won’t work,” Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the ministry, told reporters at a regular news conference.

“China’s position on the tariff war initiated by the United States is very clear: We do not want to fight, but we are not afraid to fight. If it’s to fight, we’ll fight till the end. If it’s to talk, our door is wide open,” he added.
