Some players actually care - stars though know their contracts are guaranteed and jobs secure.
Coaches pretty much the same - some guys hoping a decent showing saves their job (Stefanski
in Cleveland) - but overall some guys know it’s over end of year and others know they are going nowhere no matter what happens.
Great competitors - no - they are human - just like
gamblers. Some do it because they need the money, some because they enjoy it and a few just because they know nothing else.
NFL of late has made a lot of gamblers look smarter than they are - it’s bound to change. Just like these bowl games made alot of “wise” guys look dumb - last 2 weeks of NFL and wild card weekend will probably do the same to some
gamblers.
