I saw a followup tiktok to this video and the establishment has signs around the bar indicating that any tab not closed out at the end of the night will have 20% tip added to the tab.

I'm not sure that makes it legal but it gives the bar a leg to stand on.

The reason for opening a bar tab is because multiple people are drinking or that you don't have to pay and tip on every round of drinks. Honestly who doesn't tip 20% on a bar tab unless the service was non existent or rude?
