Just target practice.

Nicklaus started saying 15-20 years ago they should adjust the golf ball so you can’t hit it as far or else a majority of the courses they play would become obsolete.

He was right.

There are very few tournaments I really enjoy. The four majors and maybe 3-4 others on very tough courses where they grow out the rough and narrow the fairways.
