Think your wrong on Bienemy. He has earned his right more so than any of the others that have been given the chance. Most of the coaches have been handed the job up until this point. Bienemy has earned the opportunity IMO. Whether he fvcks it up when he finally gets the opportunity or not, He at least put in his dues under one of the most successful coaching trees the last 30-40 years and has earned it more than the shit coach like in Denver or other under performing teams coaches

Bruce Ariens has a SB and been to what, 3 or 4 NFC title games in the past 10 years, he's white.

The firing of Leftwhich & Bowels will end the Rooney rule media coverage. Teams will still parade token candidates thru to satisfy the rule, but the media has lost it's argument here as they did w the whole black QB argument w McNabb years back

Yeah.... I never agree with the Rooney Rule.

I do think some coaches are overlooked due to race but, this rule was BS and leads to reverse discrimination. Besides, many teams have found ways to work around the rule. There should be better answers to this problem.

Don't forget they expanded it this year. Every team required to have a black offensive assistant. You wonder why the quality of football is so bad overnight, there's your answer.

This shit drives me nuts because it then seeps into academics, politics and professional practices and then one day you're on the operating table w a black doctor and suddenly you're wondering.... is he Todd Bowels or Tony Dungy? One earned it by winning, one got the job because of his color....but either way, you're life suddenly is in their hands. Kinda like MPLS in 2020. Celebrate its first black police chief and first female fire chief and then the town goes up in flames and neither knows what to do, how to respond and refuse to accept responsibility.

You cannot hire someone 'just because'

And you cannot use the argument that 'just because' there are more black players, that there must also be more black coaches

If that's the case and this is how we're making decisions, the percentage of more white players over black players in MLB is so MUCH greater than black over white in the NFL, that there should be no black MLB managers period

Where's the cry for more Latino & Asian coaches in sports?

We're all different and the fact is different races are better on average at different things

It's really that simple and it's not 'racist' to acknowledge & accept it

Bottom line.... We have to eliminate the past prejudices involved with selecting coaches so that race is not involved in the process. We just pick the best person for the position.
