Feels like a big card day.... Not sure why but...
We'll start with this one.
TOR +101 Everygame
Webb is a better pitcher than Lauer but over the last 30 days Lauer has better stats. It could be the level of competition or could be just a swing in performance. Regardless, we'll go with the pitcher who is pitching slightly better lately.
IMO Lauer, with only 8 starts is becoming the "best" pitcher in TOR rotation. Berrios is good and you have to respect Bassitt but stat-wise, Lauer is better.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the points I like about this game:
Pitching (very slight edge TOR):
Lauer (TOR) 3.66 ERA, 1.22 WHIP (30 days)
Webb (SF) 4.02 ERA, 1.31 WHIP
Home/Vis win % Season:
TOR 67% Hm, +11 units at home --> Haven't lost at home in 8 games (vs SFG, LAA, NYY)
SF 48% Vis, -3 units on the road
Batting Season:
TOR 0.259 AVG, 105 WRC+
SG 0.230 AVG, 94 WRC+
Bullpens (about even):
Both pens are very good. #2 and #3 in MLB.
TOR 2.67 ERA
SFG 2.81 ERA
>>>>>>> Finally, I'm getting about even money on a team that has a slight edge in every category.
