serious question for @Enikk and @Wagerallsports , do you genuinely like living in central florida? whenever I've visited orlando, I've always had some sort of altercation with a person or something. the last being someone breaking into my friends car and stealing her shit lol
Hated it. Could take an hour to not even go 1/2 mile. I moved down a few months prior to the school year ending so my kids didn't have to screw up their school year and to find the nicest area(basically go to you local Walmarts/Publix/Winn Dixie and see what the kind of people lived there). Basically all of the stores in Orlando had security guards and everyone was too fvcking lazy to take their cart back to the cart return space. Drove me nuts. I lived in a gated community one where Timberlake or one of the boy band kids grew up there so at one time it was nice. My car was stolen from the drive-way of where I was stay on my fvcking B-day. So now I am 1,000 miles away from home and know no one but my co-workers and have no car. Freaking drugs addicts. Car was smashed but not totaled and drug paraphernalia all in it. Car only had 23k miles on it and was paid in full. I traded it in right away after fixed and didn't want the memory of it anymore having dogs and kids didn't want to worry about anything left behind.

On my off days I stayed in different towns all within one hour. I found the best to be Citrus County West of Orlando by the gulf side or down south more from where WAGs said in Parrish. Problem is all the newer homes down there where made with Chinese drywall so they are all screwed up and unlivable. We settled on a 10 acre lake house on the Gulf side. Too much damn upkeep and expense though. Well water is so shitty in Florida you needed to replace filter system every few years. Expense are similar for car insurance/food to everywhere else but pay sucks in Florida. So happy to be gone. My drive to work was hell but being a night shift guy I was thankfully always going the opposite way so took about 1 hr 15 minutes each way but my children grew up in a nice area.

hey as long as your kids got to grow up in a nice area, that's all that matters and now you're away from that area! orlando, to me, is a place i can only visit, i can not live there. from the story you just told, i can totally envision it because of the people there. now i've meet some very lovely people in orlando and they've all said to enjoy orlando, stay away from certain areas.

but the last time i was in orlando was for new years, what a shit show ONLY from our hotel. we had to change hotels THREE times, they were so disgusting and overly priced it was ridiculous. time before that was in november and my friend had her car broken into. the place can be fun, just need to be super careful!

thankfully where i live in soflo, i don't experience these types of things. but once you set foot in miami, that's a different story. if you know how to handle the city, youre fine lol
South Beach right now during spring break is loaded with fuckin’ obnoxious assholes lol I stay away from there for the most part. I use to live & work in Miami for nearly 2 decades. Glad I‘m in Palm Beach now it’s much nicer & better vibes with my surroundings.
