(5%) UNDER 1st Half Seattle/NE: These are two very good defenses. The Seahawks. are allowing 16.5 ppg in the playoffs while the Patriots are allowing a mere 9.5 ppg. The Pats' offense struggled against Denver and that wasn't just the weather. Seattle was up against the high-scoring, defensively-challenged Rams and that game had roughly the same total as this one. However, the Pats (currently) have a far less potent offense (with a way less experienced QB) than the Rams and a much stronger defense.
Against anyone else besides the Rams, the Hawks have been dominant defensively, for weeks. Their last six games against teams other than LA saw them allow 6, 3, 10, 16, 9 and 0 points. That's an average of just 7.3 ppg. With both teams looking to establish their running games, I'm expecting a heavy dose of the run in the first half. That'll keep the clock moving and the first half score beneath the generous number. *
