He was fine until used his position with the school and named the school in an attempt to inflate his credentials.

It would be no different than if I came on here posting info - and saying I have access to info via my employer.

My employer doesn’t care what I do off work, on my own time and using my own computer. Now if I started posting info using my work email - saying I had “inside” knowledge and using my position to boost the credibility of something I stated - different story. My employer is perceived as being involved and if they don’t object - be default they are perceived to approve of my posting.

Use a fictitious name - keep work and life separate and your fine.

BTW - dude has gotten a paid vacation for over a year already. He will get a payout to walk likely and then he will find a job elsewhere at some liberal college on the West coast. I do not feel badly for him here.

I have to admit, this is a hard one...

No it isn't. He should lose his job.

First, he has admitted that he is unable to recognize his own poor judgment. In a position like his, good judgment is essential to his job. If he is unable to recognize bad judgment, then incompetence has been established.

Secondly, he exploited his position to generate more revenue for the videos. That right there is grounds for termination.

Three, he harmed the reputation of the University itself.

Goodbye asshole.

Fact he hasn’t actively taught in near 2 decades - why start again now ?

He doesn’t want to - he just wants paid to go away and will keep fighting until they pay him to do just that - teaching is his excuse.
