First-time father-to-be Ohtani away from Dodgers

Manager Dave Roberts said before the Dodgers' series opener Friday night against the Rangers in Texas that Shohei Ohtani was with his wife and going on MLB's paternity list. He can miss up to three games.

Yao Qinlei was born May 21, 2010. I don't think she balls though.

You're right, her mom was a basketball player too and was like 6'3".

They say the daughter even is taller, but it doesn't quite show here...

Yes, Ohtani's wife balled in Japan and represented the country at the college level and even younger.

She played at Waseeda University in college then turned pro.

She played for the Fujitsu Red Wave from 2019 to 2023. That's in the Women's Japan Basketball League.
