The term “redneck” for an accent ignores the fact there are at least 5-6 different regional variations of vastly different attractiveness.

I speak “Ohio Valley” Appalachian for example - not a great accent - but at least sounds less annoying (to me) than Western Kentucky which can be shrill, slow and honestly makes people sound stupid (the missing teeth typically present likely don’t help).

You have a completely different version of Appalachian spoken in WVa and N Carolina / Far East Tennessee.

N Georgia is probably the “best” sounding - once you get to S Georgia/Florida it almost feels like a mix of W Ky / Louisiana.

2nd best redneck is N Texas/Oklahoma.

Foreign language - Soanish or Portuguese can sound very good - but again it’s very country specific. Ditto Italian - there’s a huge difference in a citizen of Italy speaking Italian than a 3rd generation out of NJ butchering the language.

Most of us grew up in the era of chat lines and releasing to strangers on the phone at times. What’s your view on these sexiest accents? Which posters also have sexy accents ? @DiggityDaggityDo @Tanko have soft yet farm worker raspy voice accents , @KVB has a tough pushy Maine accent. @JDS has the sexiest voice of any poster I’ve ever heard. He has the Dade county mixed with southern fried collard greens accent but smooth to the ears. What accents do you prefer ?

Remember years ago when I worked 3rd shift in a call center - and I swear I must have been on a special phone line connected to Miami - EVERY damn call was someone from Hati who spoke the language. It’s not what I would call a “calm” or “pleasant” language. I’d get the calls - bring a translator on and after listening to someone scream nonstop for 5 minutes - id ask the translator what the person said and answer would be something like “He says his name is John” - like yea - I’m not that bright - but he had more to say than that.

German overall is a rough language to listen to - but Arabic and Haitian Creole are bottom of the list.

Yes - Mexican and Cuban Spanish are much less attractive sounding compared to several other countries.

Yiddish another unattractive overall.
