Too violent? They are trained to do very very bad things to their opponents.
They would kick everyone's butt (literally) if they fell behind in a game. Marines don't lose.

I'm kidding of course (kind of).

Although they are a separate service, Marines are considered part of the Navy. Many officers come through the Navy Academy in Annapolis.
