Horse was running in Grade I’s last year, now picks up a huge trainer upgrade. Previous trainer Kantarmaci specializes in second time over the course, so I believe last race was a prep for this one today. Unfortunately for Kantarmaci, Klesaris swooped in and claimed the horse. Looking at a stalk and pounce type of trip for the W. Rosario not riding, so that’s a good thing. McCarthy and Klesaris have mid-Atlantic history together.

Played a ton of shit today. Most interested in:

R1 #2 Ancient Times 8-1

Scratched out of a flat race on Monday that appeared to be a good spot. Horse won over the jumps here last year, and many of the usual jump suspects haven’t shown up this year due to Colonial’s excellent program.

R2 #5 Kukaro 8-1

Even the slightest natural progression from its debut should have this one in the mix at a price.

R3 #6 Iron Man Jimmy 8-1

Summers only hits at 8% here, but has still managed a +$5 roi in limited starts.

R10 #6 My Slick Nick 20-1

Another one that only needs the slightest progression from its debut. Was bet last out, did a speed/fade, but gets lasix first time today in a suspect field.

Ferraro’s strong suit is wheeling them back on short rest. Horse comes back in 22 days, off a strong second, after being bet to 4-1. A bit of a step up in class here, and the layofff isn’t as short as I would like, but if it goes off at 20-1, why nitpick?
