Poker player Phil Laak coined a great phrase that I think a lot of us fall into from time to time. “Up-stuck”
For example, if we start gambling with $1000. Run it to $8k but lose say $2k of that to give us a $6k total it’s hard to stop. Instead of seeing that as still being $5k profit and maybe cashing out we see it as a 2k loss and chase. It’s the competitor/compulsive side of this. I’ve been there. We’ve all been there.
It’s getting away from this tilt mentality that ultimately gave me a chance to be profitable. I’m able to do it most of the time now but still end up with that negative mindset sometimes.
I hope Rudy was able to stop with some profit.
