so sad to hear this.
you can see he is a cerebral guy and seemed to really want to pull out of it.
i wonder if he was on depression meds or took himself off of them.
SRRI's are amazing drugs and have saved millions of lives.
this is just so sad. he seemed to have so much going for him. :-(
I guess, this is the reason why euthanasia is legal in other countries.
I read an article about a very young women who seek assisted death in the Netherlands. A few days before she died she explained that she needed to pass different stages of evaluation/therapies but in the end, she was still not okay.
usually Yes, but they are extremely effective at treating depression. they help release "good hormones" and create new pathways in the brain.
best case is to exercise, get lots of sun, socialize a lot, these are the best options.
but if a person is in severe depression, very strong SSRI's are typically the last line of defense before hospitalization but the latter can only last so long.
