Collapsed aged 43 and died while coaching his son’s little league game,

Was on the winning LLWS team for the US about 30 years ago.

Also a first-round MLB pick. Had a nice career in the league,

His LLWS batting and pitching stats were amazing

RIP. I can't imagine the trauma it caused for his poor kid.

Wonder what his lifestyle was like... Type A personality? Drinking? No excercise? Poor eating habits?
I would love to understand how someone that young has a heart attack. Its crazy.

RIP

So now confirmed as drug related (fetanyl).

This stuff is simply bad news - of course it’s both cheap, addictive and being mixed with any and everything these days by people and used without the victim knowing in many cases.

Worse - you announce the stuff is making the rounds - you draw a whole new level of interest from junkies looking for a cheap fix and a better high.

So very sad his kid will now have to talk about the day his dad dropped dead from his addiction after dropping him off at little league. Losing a father at that age is rough enough - but losing one to a treatable disease is beyond words.
