Rudy horse was 8-1 morning line when the race was scheduled for turf, where Rudy is horrible. Race comes off the turf to be ruin at a mile on dirt, Rudy’s specialty. Yet is sitting at 22-1. Where do I sign?

Father’s Day Extravaganza

Trainer Tony Wilson finally showing signs of life with a nice winner yesterday. He had been going too bad to believe, so firing away in his three entrants today at Monmouth.

Played one Race today:

BAQ Race 6
$20 win #7 Howling Wind 15-1
$1 P3 7/ALL/9
Think the morning line is a bit off. Horse has been running competitively in NY Bred stakes the last four or five races, now drops into an Allowance. Stumbled at the break last out, then rushed up and did a speed/fade. Always like the speed/fade, then return in short rest from Ferraro. It’s his specialty.

Expecting him to be on or near the lead from the jump.

Played some Canterbury last night. They have a pretty good betting product in my opinion. Some large fields, turf racing, some Tampa trainers, and Chip Woolley.

In race 4, I liked a Tim Padilla entrant. He’s one of my go-to Tampa trainers and horse drifted to 21-1. Played win, exacta, and tri. Horse wires the field and pays $44. Whiffed on exotics.

Race 6, liked a Chip Woolley horse. Won easy at 5-1. Cashed out plus $300 for night.

However, here’s the lesson. A pick 3 singling both horses, with ALL in the middle, would’ve cost $10. Which I didn’t do. It paid $2500.

That’s the difference between a rec player like me and a professional player. Pro’s absolute crush the races the rare times they are correct. I collect a measly pittance the rare times I am correct.

Its nice to be able to pick a long shot now and then, but betting it correctly is a whole nother animal.
