I’d rather have people’s respect than their money. Besides if I’m winning my picks I don’t need their money, but I have their respect.

Krackman sharp guy and really nice guy. Know him personally
He might be sharp but what he said is nonsense. It’s a common quote from sports bettors used to make themselves feel better about their “craft.”
There’s just no evidence to their claim. You’ve been out here at least as long as me. How many stiff-jobs have you seen from horse bettors compared to stiff-jobs from sports bettors?
I can’t name one from any horse bettors.

Horse racing is a different betting game than most if not all other sports.

The notion that it is impossible to win is nonsense. However, the amount of time, dedication and effort it takes to make money long term is huge.
There is no question you can win long term but you better have an understanding of how from people that do understand how to. And it’s not a daily for weekly total of plus or minus But a yearly and multi year total.
That in itself is a massive undertaking.

Its not a 50-50 proposition type bet like two teams and most never realize that betting horses is having the proper approach to say nothing of what to look for.
Hope that makes sense.

Thank god I never got into horse racing too much. We'd go to the track just for the beers the dogs and sitting around talking s#it all day. It was relaxing and if someone won some money, great. If not, it was worth the entertainment.

This is exactly how the vast majority of people who casually go to the races should see it. Great post !

But for those “ big time gamblers” or pros or whatever title they like to attach to themselves, saying you cannot beat it or it’s all fixed is simply not facing the reality that some people can win but they do not have the time or understanding to do so.

Well wtf happen today in real time ?
Not if you outsmart the track. True story. You guys know all race tracks pay $2.10 to show except for Charlestown and Mountaineer. They both would pay $2.20 show. I'd watch those 2 tracks like a hawk and wait for a 1/9 shot. Maybe 1 or 2 a day. Only 5 or 6 horses in race. Go up to the teller with my suitcase full of $100,000 Charlestown lei it ride on whatever the # was to show on the 1/9 paid 2.20 2.20 2.20 I never did lose. Jockey never fell off. Lol. I was a smart bridge jumper in my younger days. Never did lose. That's why the track was running after me all over the track. I beat the track and they know it.
