Court.

My girl’s son got a DWI. Guess the judge was sick. He was remote.

DAMN! I feel sorry for anybody going through this - especially if it was just an innocent ‘one too many’. That’s going to be a $#!T-Load of money until he’s finally ‘back to normal’. I guess I was “lucky”? I got my one before they really raised all the fines/insurace/time on your record. Hopefully, like me, your girl’s kid learned his lesson…..

Good luck…..

For first time offender?

👍🍺

Mine was 12 months - no big deal, unless you do it again (or something else stupid). The kicker is going to be the fines & insurance, especially the insurance because it’s going to skyrocket for years…..

Wonder if part of his probation is he has to attend mandatory AA meetings like I did. Those are fun 🤪🤣. He’ll meet a lot of ‘interesting’ people, to say the least…..

This was during your teenage years, Malted?

I thought it was only 6months max for first-time offenders.

It's good to know those AA meetings really had an impact on you Malty. 😄

I was on a Honda Elite motor scooter in a parking lot when I got pulled over, lol.

Had to do the AA meetings too. Many the stories some of those guys were telling were blowing me away, and I was a pretty hardcore partier, lol.

I had surgery on my shoulder and missed one, maybe it was two, of the AA meetings. I told the place I was having surgery, but when I missed they kicked me back to the court. I was pissed.

Judged asked me if I was going to handle this the right way or the "alcoholic's way" and I thought for a second, do I have to answer or can I start telling my story? lol.

Eventually wall was fine, I was sent back to finish the AAs with no more penalties added.

No, old enough to get pulled over after leaving a bar - I was probably 24 (yes, I know 🤪). California was/is strict, probably one of the strongest DUI punishments in the country. IDK where @BigJay is, but I think everything is harsher now everywhere…..

Yes.

He’s a kid with a big heart. Compared to his older sister who’s been nothing but trouble her whole life.

But unfortunately one of those kids who always thought the rules didn’t apply to him. Dating back to high school. Something like this was inevitable unfortunately.
