I know the players are covered for salary in their contract in case of injury but is this covered since its potentially not a "work" related injury?

He's on contract to make $126M for 2025 through 2027 season.

He's 35 yo. I wonder if he comes back from this? It involves removing a bone or muscle that is causing the issue. I hope he gets back next year.

Almost all baseball salaries are guaranteed as you know Tanker.

If for whatever reason he never pitches again I’m guessing he gets paid in full but the team has an insurance policy to cover a lot of it.
