Maybe Bobby can do a review for us.There are dog and cat restaurants all over my city, 100s, probably close to 700-1000.
I walk through the wetmarkets daily, it is not as bad as Myanmar and Laos but I see some pretty disgusting stuff. I see dog being cooked on the street daily.Maybe Bobby can do a review for us.

It is a certain kind of dog that they cook and eat. Many Vietnamese keep dogs and cats as pets. However, the number of restaurants that serve dog is unreal. You can't go anywhere without seeing it advertised. I am in a big city with around 9-10 million people, it is literally everywhere. However, in one of my favorite cities in the north, Hải Phòng which has about 3 million people, it is unreal to be honest, dog is served everywhere. I have seen huge trucks with hundreds of dogs packed in a cage ready to be killed. The younger generation for the most part does not eat it though.Yea I've seen videos it's completely insane I've seen them boiled alive man's best friend completely whacko atleast kill it fast completely unnecessary in 2022

I am telling you something that took me years to come to terms with. Me, you , or other foreigners that come to Vietnam will never change the culture or have any sort of influence. There are some things here that drive me absolutely insane but it is completely normal to them and there is no issue. For years, I struggled with, what the f***, what the hell are they doing, f*** this , f*** that, I would correct them and be like " no " you aren't going to do that, etc etc.. There are certain things here that the average person would not understand or comprehend, I am in a completely different world, literally, If you are ever interested in hearing some of the cultural things that are completely bizarre, I would be more than happy to share some.I was making a joke of it but I do really like dogs and cats for the most part. This is distressing to hear. Just got to accept different cultures have different ways.
I'd like to hear about them Flyingillini. Sounds interesting.I am in a completely different world, literally, If you are ever interested in hearing some of the cultural things that are completely bizarre, I would be more than happy to share some.
Is it called dog on the menu ?It is a certain kind of dog that they cook and eat. Many Vietnamese keep dogs and cats as pets. However, the number of restaurants that serve dog is unreal. if you have the time for a pup, def do it
They don't speak English in Vietnam, of course some people do but not many. On the menu you will see "Thịt chó" signs - Thịt means meat and chó means dog. I see them being cooked daily with their head still attached with their teeth full intact. Is it called dog on the menu ?
oK, here is one for you....this is not a major one but this is one, I refuse to them get away with. I start talking shit to them in Vietnamese , keep in mind most Vietnamese are non confrontational , but there are gangs here, mafia etc etc so shit does go down but the average person isn't . I go to a lot of movies on dates etc etc.. The movie theaters here blow anything in America away, I mean really really nice, there are different level of quality and seating. Everything is assigned seats. So this is where the fun happens. Keep in mind, I have a card and it shows my movie usage for discounts etc etc, I have been to 152 movies here and every single movie I have been in people are answering their cell phones and having conversations during the movie, not softly but in normal voices. Nobody says a thing to them but me. I start talking shit to them, then they shut it off, especially it is coming from a foreigner and right off the bat they are tripping because its rare to see a foreigner speak Vietnamese and if they do they don't know how to cuss in slang which I do to do them. ..There are so many but going to movies here are very odd, because not just the answering of the phones but people talk during the whole movie to each other about what is happening in the movie. It is strange. Not low voices either.Yes definitely like to hear more.
I don't eat, I am not around when people are eating it, I can ask and I will let you know. Go on you tube and watch some Hanoi food exotic stuff you will see some weird stuff.Do they eat the head part too?
