So many cracks in this story that has had details changed a couple of times from both Ippe and Ohtani's people.

Lets say Ohtani didn't gamble (that's a stretch but lets go with it). He still violated MLB rules by paying a bookie $4.5M for his interpretor's debt. MLB will try to downplay this until someday it eventually dies. IRS will keep it a live story though.

If the net result is Pete Rose get in to the HOF, I'm OK if Ohtani gets away without any punishment.

Defense asked for 18 months

Also has to pay back more than a million
