Sorry Genie. I should explain. It's kind of a inside joke in Texas.

Ted Cruz is our Senator. Whenever it gets really cold, he leaves and takes his family somewhere warm. In 2021 during the last extreme freeze, he went to Mexico while people in Texas literally froze to death (many people actually died) when power went out across the state due to the cold.

He came back to the state afterwards with a nice tan. It didn't sit well with many people.

Looks like he's doing it again. Heading to Laguna Beach in California.
