As PiMike mentioned Blackburn is better on the road. Besides, how can you not bet against a pitcher with the last name Junk?

All the typical batting stats favor Oakland in this one (recent WRC+, OPS, Avg).

Relief pitching is roughly equal between these two.


Finally, here is another season stat:
LA Angles have the 2nd worst "Home Units" = -14 units YTD at Home
Oakland has the 8th best "Visitor Units" = +4 units YTD as Visitor
The delta is +18 units for Oakland. The biggest delta, by far, for any game on the schedule today.

Can’t find much on the Junk guy at least nothing pertaining any superior stats worth noting. Though he did pitch four good innings after being called up for the second time this season.

This J. Junk guy had the one start against the Royals, 5 IP... It looks like they are "easing" him into MLB by giving him starts against the teams that are in the bottom third in league batting average. Which is good for the kid but we really don't have a read on his ability against MLB hitters yet.

Most guys that come up don't fare well. Sure there's the occassional superstar but I think we would have seen them already this season if they were on someone's minor-league roster. I'm hoping Oakland lights this Junk guy up tonight.

Spin:Moniak will make his second straight start in center field and looks as though he'll get a trial as the Angels' everyday option at the position after he was acquired Tuesday in the deal that sent Brandon Marsh to Philadelphia.
