i agree with both. the city is immensely packed already. in theory, it would be great to have a casino but logistically it doesn't work.

by citifield there is a lot of empty space. this will make it a really nice area to go to and hang out. it would be pretty cool to stay at the hotel and then go see the mets and then go back to the casino.

Yes this will work well. Could also see even more events coming. I’m sure Citi Field would book more big concerts and such. With Hard Rock running the casino, that opens a lot of entertainment possibilities.

The closest comparison I’ve been part of is Encore Boston Harbor. It worked well having it near TD Garden so you could easily stay there and see games/shows. Rides over to Fenway were arranged also for games and concerts.

Encore didn’t need its own entertainment in house since there was always so much else going on not far away.

They are hoping it boosts Queens and Bronx more. Bigger entertainment, housing, jobs. Will see how it goes.

This was a concern they had with the Times Square casino. In the proposal, they purposely would not have had any gaming on the ground floor. They wanted to keep the riff raff out.

Always wanted to try that. Even part time. Maybe if the Meadowlands gets approved for a casino, I will apply to do something there.
