And another thing

People usually don't care for advice in this spot, and gamblers evenmoreso but... before you do it again (and you know you will, right?)... before you bet 10-20x on a game, you may want to make a promise to yourself you'll need to keep:

either
a) This will be the last time you do it UNLESS it wins (and next time you do it, THIS is the amount you'll stick to, not 50-60x, *just* 10-20x like the Ravens and the Guardians in 2024
or
b) You will only do it after reaching a real non-gambling related goal.

(insert a really tough personal goal here, like waking up an hour earlier every day for a month specifically to volunteer at a homeless shelter/church, or do anything around the house you postponed for too long - anything people usually put on a New Year resolutions list and usually forget by January 5th)

This goal should take several weeks to accomplish, giving you time to appreciate the lifestyle gambling has created for you, and to process what's happened to your bankroll, realize this is not the end, and upgrade your game. Because - even when you're giving out soup to the homeless - you will never stop thinking about sports and betting. This isn't a disease, but it can be if you let it.

Good luck managing your loss JDS
This is great advice and as you know this problem will surface down the road once again. I will need to occupy myself with one of your suggestions in order to not take my tilt to the next dangerous level.

I’ve already done this earlier in the year. I know better, but when I get pushed up against the gambling ropes I go tilt. Apparently this is who I am as a gambler.
LONG READ so standard joke [I'm not reading all that so I'm happy for you or sorry that happened to you 🤣 😂 ] Just like there's a reason books offer cashouts (book's benefit) there's a reason they're all too happy to highlight your financial stats. (daily, weekly, monthly summary). They're more than aware degens will always want to get back what they lost yesterday, last wk, etc shown in green & blue numbers. I'm just as guilty of it myself so the key is to look at your balance as an organic # instead of how much you won/lost yesterday & need to get back right away. Obv. easier said than done but once we master that thought process, the cycle of bad beat/chase/tilt won't even be a thought in your mind. Clearly I haven't mastered it myself after a brutal beat yesterday but just got lucky my "current" balance lives to see another day.

I’m glad it worked out this time for you. Last week was one of the worst weeks of my life. I never wanna put myself through that ever again. I still have 80K and I can still chase what I lost, but I reached my limit.
