I didn't pay much attention to the changes last year. Was there any difference in how the teams played the pre-season games with 1 less week?? Less time to evaluate talent and less time to get starters in game shape. Years past you might see 1-2 series out of a starter than a half the 3rd game than sit out or a half the 4th game. I guess maybe looking at last years box scores will be helpful

The only thing that makes no sense to me is after the 3rd and final preseason game, they have a bye week before week 1 of regular season

It kind of defeats the whole propose of everyone wanting that extra useless game to be dismissed and getting down to business of regular season and we still end up having to wait the same period of time

Exactly, I guess they have no plans of ever starting before Labor day weekend.
