I think this could affect pro sports negatively.

If an athlete is getting paid millions a year to stay at school, what is the reason for him to turn pro?

Especially if they're say, a football player that isn't going to be picked in the 1st rround of the draft.

They would be losing money by declaring for the draft in that case.

So schools get to pay out $20.5M each year to athletes (increases annually) AND boosters can still pay athletes $$$ if its for business purposes (i.e. commercial endorsements for said business).

Hmmmmm.... Somehow I don't this will solve the equity problem between schools we've seen over the last several years.

No different than the average 30 year old who starts with nothing and has nothing to get ahead. We are a nation of average. Whatever attributes you apply to these athletes they will far and above exceed what the average person will do starting from the age of 18. Remember an athlete sticks with their craft much longer than average person stays at a job. Most of us move 8-10 times in our lives and have had 10+ different jobs and need every paycheck that we get and consider that successful. Have you noticed now that we have NIL that none of the athletes are flunking out of school? Look at the general student population for that success rate.

This is only going to result in schools cutting all men's sports except FB, BB, Baseball & hockey. Maybe wrestling.

No more track, tennis, swimming, etc.

Have to pay the big sports and unfortunately have to offer women's sports equal teams.

The real problem here is Title 9
