I still don’t get the concept of an in-season tournament. The NBA championship format wasn’t broken before so why make something out of nothing?
The point of it is to spice up the regular season. The regular season for casual fans means little and of course the players treat it as such by sitting out regular season games routinely. They don't sit these games out for the most part because if they win they get cash for every player on the team so it means a little bit more especially for the guys on the end of the bench who don't make that much money. At first I was against it and so were the players but I can see why they do it and if you watch these games they sort of resemble playoff games because the players are motivated to win.
