I have no ideaWhat the heck does it even mean?
Yep every player on the winning team gets $500, 000 dollars so the players are pretty motivated to win this even though these are basically just regular season games that count against your W-L record. Group play starts tonight and each team was assigned to a group in their conference that's based on their 2024 record.Isn’t there an incentive if you win the thing?
the games still count toward their W-L so it is like they are getting hurt normallyWhat if the player gets injured in this event?
Ohh, thought it's not counted..the games still count toward their W-L so it is like they are getting hurt normally
Yes, most NBA Cup games count toward a team's regular season record, but the championship game does not. This ensures that all teams have an 82-game regular season schedule to avoid an unfair advantage for the two teams that reach the final.
- Games that count: All group play, quarterfinal, and semifinal games are considered regular season games.
- Game that does not count: The championship game is played in addition to the regular 82 games, so its result does not affect regular-season standings or stats.
lol adam silver thinks this is euroleague smhWhat the heck does it even mean?
I’m kind of surprised that they don’t already do this
Players in the NBA In-Season Tournament receive cash prizes that increase for each round they advance, with the champion's players earning approximately $514,971 to $530,933 each. Runners-up earn around $205,988, semifinalists receive about $102,994, and players from teams losing in the quarterfinals get around $51,497.Isn’t there an incentive if you win the thing?
who knows maybe gives teams who have no shot win title a chance feel like winners in smaller format they have a chance inI still don’t get the concept of an in-season tournament. The NBA championship format wasn’t broken before so why make something out of nothing?
I mean, that’s possible but no other sport does itwho knows maybe gives teams who have no shot win title a chance feel like winners in smaller format they have a chance in
