One other thing i do like about my state books is I often find better odds on props compared to offshore and also more variety.
How about odds on Futures?

5dimes used to be hard to beat on best payout odds on futures

Now I think it’s Betonline, Heritage, and pinnacle

I’ve always believed the better the odds are on futures is a reflection of the financial stability with a book

I don't play futures much so not really sure about that I doubt they do. I agree about your statement on the stability of a book.

At one time we had 33 state legal books.. Here is the list of no longer here in Colorado gone closed smoked outta here 😂 Sbk Sportsbook: closed Elite sportsbooks:closed Betwildwood. :closed Sky ute sportsbook: closed Clutchbet:closed Si sportsbook:closed Playup:closed Betfred:closed in Colorado Betway:closed in Colorado Tipico: bought by Leovegas Twinspires: Went back to only horse racing Wynnbet:closed Foxbet:closed Superbook sportsbook: shutdown Maxiumbet: Eaten alive by sharp bettors killed them The score: closed Maverick sports: dead and gone. The books that I mostly miss out of this list are. Betwildwood, Playup, Betfred, Maxiumbet These books are where I had the most success at.

I’m surprised they awarded that many licenses

In 2025, several states offer a significant number of legal sportsbooks, providing a variety of options for bettors
.
States with a Large Number of Legal Sportsbooks:
  • Colorado: Stands out with 25 online sportsbooks. You can enjoy a wide selection, including major operators like DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and BetRivers.
  • New Jersey: Known for its highly competitive market, New Jersey offers 18 online sportsbooks as of March 2024, including many prominent brands. New Jersey played a key role in the legalization of sports betting nationwide by challenging the federal ban.
  • Iowa: Has a diverse selection with 19 online sportsbooks as of March 2024.
  • Arizona and Ohio: Both offer 17 online sportsbooks.
  • Michigan and Virginia: Each have 14 online sportsbooks. Michigan offers a liberal sports betting environment with a variety of betting options, including college betting, and 13 licensed sportsbooks regulated by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

Florida and Texas need to catch up. Get with the fn program 😂 All These legal books just cut into the offshore business. But in reality this is a billion dollar business and there's enough to go around if your already established. Not these sportsbooks that were late to the party. 😉

Unless something drastic happens, there will only be one in Florida per the Seminoles deal

The Hard Rock Sports Book is horrific compared to others

Yeah Florida got those billions from the Indians with their monopoly on gambling down there and 🔒 it. There's no competition. I assume at some point if the indians want, they can let some others come in, but why would they when they got it 🔒.
