1. FIFA World Cup

Reasons: 1. Global Participation. Nearly every country has a national soccer team, which means everyone has an opportunity to participate. That alone makes this competition nearly unique.

Additionally, it only happens once every 4 years, adding to it's prestige. Only a handful of countries have been able to win it and with soccer being the most popular sport on the planet, the winner of this competition can truly be said to be the World's Champion.

2. The NFL Super Bowl.

This championship, unlike the World Cup, has only a national participation, not global. Still, the prestige of winning a Super Bowl is undeniable.

The NFL has surpassed Baseball as the most popular sport in America and does have a global following now. The popularity of the league and it's teams have captured the imagination and while the season is only currently 18 weeks long, it has become a sport to follow year round with it's off-season events such as the Draft and minicamps.

3. The MLB World Series.

Baseball is truly America's past time. Nothing says summer like Opening Day. This is the most statistically diversive sport ever. Every stat you can think of, Baseball has it. While still primarily a national sport, the game has grown internationally by leaps and bounds with players from all over the world.

4. Boxing World Heavyweight Champion. The most brutal and violent sport ever invented, there's nothing quite like watching two great fighters go to war one vs. one for the World Heavyweight Championship.

It also happens to be the most personal sport as each boxer risks his life every time he enters the ring. Brutal, violent, personal. The Champ is here!

5. The Triple Crown.

While Baseball is America's past time, and the NFL is the most popular sport in America, perhaps no other sport speaks to the prideful tradition of a nation quite like the Triple Crown.

This sport proves that athletics isn't confined to just being for humanity. Ask any proud American and they will be able to tell you their favourite horse and why. The rarity of winning a Triple Crown only adds to it's prestige.

6. The NBA Championship. While primarily the sport of uncivilized, sub human apes, the game of basketball was, in fact, invented by a white man, and it's global popularity is undeniable.

For some, the NBA playoffs are some of the most exciting times of the year and the sport has gone global in recent years.

7. The NHL Stanley Cup.

Regarded by many as the hardest Championship to win in team sports, the excitement of the NHL playoffs is undeniable.

The grueling, agonizing pain of going through a set of four, 7 game series in each round takes a physical, mental, and emotional toll not seen in any other team sport.

The act of winning the Stanley Cup is an exercise in sacrifice that can hardly be properly comprehended.

That's my list.

Triple Crown should be higher as you are not guaranteed one every year.

Boxing a dead sport - I'd rank the reining America's Got Talent winner ahead of them on their admiration in sports.

World Series Champion - as a player, it's not as meaningful - you have 28 guys at least who can usually claim to be full time players on a championship team. Not all 28 participated equally - usually ride a few guys on a hot streak the last month to a championship.

Ditto NFL - all comes down to your QB not screwing up the game for you and bonus points if they are actually better than average. Defenses in the NFL are the only portion of the game where contributions are equal - offenses are much more skill driven.

Triple Crown not higher than any of the sports listed above it.

Boxing most popular event there is when tthere's a marquee fight.

Baseball World Series is still very prestigious as it still holds it's place in American history.

NFL does not come down to just the QB as the best QBs regarded today by most people haven't won shit.

Who is the Super Bowl champ? Jalen Hurts.

Who are you using as the highest regarded QBs

Josh Allen, Mahomes, Lamar, Burrow would be in most top 5s I think - 1 winner who keeps beating out the other 3. All have winning records in their careers.

5th is less clear - but I’d give Hurts the edge here.

QB play matters more than most any other position on the field.

Take a look at your top 5.

Only Mahomes won a Super Bowl.

Hurts is not regarded as a great QB, by any means, but he beat the only winner on your list.
