PHI/COL
When the highest scoring offense in baseball travels to the hitter’s haven of Coors Field, you can expect a slug-fest. Friday’s series opener between the Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies has all the makings of an over bettor’s dream.
The Phillies lead the majors in runs scored and have been on an absolute tear, scoring 32 runs their last 4 games and on a 6-game win streak. Their powerful lineup led by Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Trea Turner will look to tee off against Colorado’s struggling starter Ty Blach, who owns a 5.14 ERA.
While Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sanchez has been solid with a 3.31 ERA, he’s been very hittable on the road with an 0-2 record and 5.50 ERA away from home. The thin air of Coors Field could spell trouble for the Phillies lefty against Colorado’s lineup which has scored 4+ runs in 8 of their last 9 games.
With both offenses swinging hot bats and two starters who have been prone to giving up runs, this game has all the ingredients for an offensive explosion. Bettors would be wise to back the over 11 runs at even money (+100) in what could turn into a Mile High slug-fest under the Rocky Mountain lights.
